Barack Obama took the oath that made him the 44th President.
I am still in shock that I witnessed history happen yesterday. They are going to write about what happened yesterday into history books, and children, years from now, are going to study America's history and learn about our first black President.
I am going to tell my children and grandchildren about the event. I get to tell them how it felt getting goosebumps when he said his speech.
I am excited to see what the next four years bring us. It's going to be hard but I have a lot more hope and faith in Barack then I ever did in Georgie.

Matt & Maddy in PEOPLE!!
I picked up the People issue yesterday and immediatly turned to the back few pages to find the article on Maddy & Matt Logelin. I know my cousin Jen and aunt Elizabeth read his blog... But if you dont' you should. http://www.mattlogelin.com
He had the birth of his first child and the lost the love of his life all in 27hrs. Originally aunt Elizabeth sent out the link to the family to let us all know of the blog and how amazing he was. I started reading it every day. Matt is such an inspiring man, and Madeline is such a sweet baby. I can relate a lot to Matt and his struggles. He reminds me a lot of my dad, and I can tell that he loves Liz just as much as my dad loves my mom. I can also tell that he loves Maddy as much as my dad loves me and my sisters.
Even though he has had so much crap thrown at him this past year, he still laughs and smiles, and tries to make the best of the situation. Having one of the cutest babies in the world doesn't hurt either. I can't imagine having to wake up each morning and take care of a baby that reminds me only of the one I lost.
So, if you haven't read the blog, I suggest you do so. It's very moving to see how many women have reached out to help Matt through this. If you haven't picked up your copy of People (the one with Patrick Swayze on the cover), I suggest you do so as well.

Time to Pray Again...
We're outta snow. Last time I posted a blog asking for you to all pray, and we had snow in less than a week.
So please, go wash your cars and pray, pray, pray!!!
We're desperate!

CSI: NY Tonight!
Tonight's CSI: NY is a must see!!! Sharon Little & Scot Sax will both be performing a song from Sharon's debut album at the end of the episode. Bonnie McKee is playing the dead subway singer -- and my Dad did her demo quite a few years ago. What a coincidence that all three of my dad's clients are on the exact same episode!
It plays on CBS at 10pm. If you don't want to stay up, TiVo it!! ;)

Three Years...
One of the best pictures I have ever taken.
Three years ago tomorrow was my mom's funeral. January 3rd was the three year mark of her death. It's been a painful three years, and it's getting a teensy bit easier each day. I am so lucky to have a family that loves and supports me as much as they do. My dad is such an amazing supporter for my sisters. And my sisters are an amazing support for me. I am so glad that we all understand that it's okay to be sad. I was very lucky for my dad to put us into grief counseling after it all happened. I can't imagine how much worse we would be right now without it.
Ryan has been such a blessing, because he understand what it was like to loose a parent. He's been so understanding and loving and I hope I show him the same love and compassion he shows me.
This year I had to work on the day and everyone who I worked with was so sweet and supportive as well. When Ryan and I got off of work we went to the store and picked up a beautiful bouquet of flowers. They were pink roses and callililies. They were a little bit over my price range, but I knew that mom would have loved them. I really liked the pink bow, and I got a vase out of it!
We also made some spagetti and garlic bread for dinner. It was delicious. Later that night I wasn't feeling too well (emotionally), but Caity cheered me up by sending me TONS of pics of mom and family. It made my day... Here are some that she sent me.
Dad, me and Mom
This was when she was sick. She had her wig on. I would always brush it for her, or wash it and put curlers in it. I don't know why, but I really like this picture.
This one was taken by Aunt Linda, and we were on a hammock, in Grandma's old backyard in Ventura -- I believe??
Rose, Elvis and Mom
Everyone at work says we look a lot alike in this picture!
She was GORGEOUS!!

Update: Typical Christmas Eve...
If you have ever been to my dad's house on Christmas Eve, you know that as soon as we finish eating dinner... the men go to the couches for an 'after dinner nap'.
This year, even though we weren't there -- it was no different.
Kiefer included...
We had a great dinner and decided to wait until Christmas Day to open our presents.
The presents under the tree
Here is Ryan opening my present to him.
Ryan got me a beautiful pair of Juicy Couture earrings and a Juicy Couture ring to match. Pictures of those will be up later. I got him some cologne. We also got a Wii for each other and some fun games. We've been having a blast playing with it. Our friend Andy actually got us an expansion pack with the tennis racket and baseball bat. My roomate Liz got Ryan a really awesome sweater and she got me some Paris Hilton perfume. It smells really really good. Definetly the best smell out of the entire perfume line.
It was a wonderful Christmas. We missed everyone so much though!
